02 — Communication Strategy
Say the right thing, in the right order.
Before a word is designed or a dollar is spent, someone has to decide what this business actually says. Communication strategy is that decision, written down, so every channel stops improvising.

The problem
Everyone is talking. Nobody agreed what to say.
The website says one thing, the sales deck says another, the ads say a third, and the person answering the phone says whatever seems right at the time. None of them is wrong. They were just never given the same brief.
That inconsistency is expensive in a way that never shows up as a line item: every channel spends part of its budget re-explaining the business from scratch, because nothing that came before it did the job.
What is communication strategy, and how is it different from copywriting?
Copywriting is the words. Communication strategy is the decisions the words are made from. Who we're talking to, what we want them to believe, what we'll claim, what we'll never claim, which order the argument runs in, and how the business sounds when it says it.
Write copy without those decisions and you get a page that reads nicely and persuades nobody. Make the decisions first and the copy almost writes itself — and so does the next piece, and the piece after that.
What's included
How the work breaks down.
Scoped to the problem, not to a package.
Audience & insight
Who actually decides, what they already believe, what they need to hear before they'll act, and what currently stops them.
Message architecture
The core message, the supporting proof, and the hierarchy — what leads, what follows, what is deliberately left out.
Voice & language
How the business sounds, the words it uses and the words it avoids, written so a new person can match it.
Channel application
How the same message flexes for a homepage, an ad, a proposal, a job ad and a phone call without becoming a different message.
Got a problem shaped like this one? That's a good reason to talk.
Book a Strategy CallHow we work
From brief to result.
Five stages, with something reviewable at the end of each.
- 01
Listen
Stakeholders, sales conversations, customer language and the objections that keep recurring.
- 02
Decide
Audience, promise, proof and the single thing you most need understood.
- 03
Frame
The message architecture — what leads, what supports, what's out.
- 04
Voice
Tone principles with real before-and-after examples, not adjectives.
- 05
Roll out
Applied across site, sales material, campaigns and social — then reviewed once it's been used in anger.

Book a Strategy CallFAQ
Communication Strategy questions, answered.
The things clients ask before they commit.
We already have a brand. Do we need this as well?
Brand is what you stand for. Communication strategy is how you say it, to whom, and in what order. Plenty of businesses have a clear brand and still lose deals because the argument is assembled differently every time it's made.
If your team can't state, in one sentence and without hedging, what you want a prospect to believe, this is the gap.
Is this just a tone-of-voice document?
Tone of voice is one part of it, and on its own it's the least useful part. A voice guide tells you how to sound. It doesn't tell you what to argue, what proof to lead with, or what to stop saying.
We write the messaging architecture first — audience, promise, proof, hierarchy — and derive the voice from it, with real examples rather than a list of adjectives.
How do you know the message is right?
Because it comes from your customers and your sales conversations, not from a workshop whiteboard. The language people already use to describe the problem is usually better than anything we'd invent.
Then it gets tested where it matters — on the site, in campaigns, in the sales conversation — and adjusted on what actually lands.
Who uses the output?
Everyone who speaks for the business. Marketing, sales, the founder, the person writing the job ad and the agency running your media.
It's written to be used rather than admired: one framework, plain language, with worked examples for the situations your team is actually in.

Each capability stands alone, but the compounding happens when they connect.
Branding & Design
We don't simply make businesses look better. We work out what a brand should stand for, how it should communicate, and why a customer should choose it.

Print is unforgiving: you cannot patch it after it ships. We design for the press, the substrate and the viewing distance, then supply artwork that runs first time.
Explore Print Design 04Video Editing
One good edit beats ten rushed ones. We cut for the platform, the sound-off viewer and the first three seconds, because that is where video is actually won or lost.

SEO helps customers find your business. AEO helps your brand become part of the answer. We build for both, because discovery no longer happens in one place.

Paid media is the fastest way to buy attention and the fastest way to waste money. We run it against qualified demand, revenue and acquisition cost.

Content is how a brand earns attention between purchases. We plan it against real demand and the questions buyers ask, then produce it consistently.

A website is not a design project with a business attached. It's the place every other channel sends people — and where the money is made or lost.
